JOB PURPOSE

  • The principle job of the Financial Controller is to ensure strong financial processes and procedures are adhered to in order to deliver timely, accurate financial information to the business. The role will co-ordinate the activities required to meet company financial and quality standards and focuses on continuous improvement whilst contributing to the company’s strategy and demonstrating the company values and behaviour’s.

JOB ACTIVITIES

  • Focus on financial controls and reconciliations.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement across all processes ensuring all are fully documented.
  • Financial lead in ad hoc projects as required.
  • Deliver financial acumen coaching to business through both formal training and informal networking.
  • Business KPI analysis and reporting
  • Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts and annual Statutory Accounts
  • Involvement in budget and forecast preparation
  • Day to day transactional finance responsibilities
  • Identify and implement improvements to current costing methodologies through working cross functionally to understand the different cost drivers.
  • Business partner to other departments within the business to help achieve company objectives.
  • Comfortable in Deputising for Finance Director/Group Financial Controller in key business meetings as required.
  • Responsible for overseeing annual external financial audit
  • Preparation of Monthly Payroll, along with all associated reporting on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Assist with or carry out any other activities as required by your Line Manager or Finance Director

  • Communicate with other services and outside organisations at all levels.
  • Adaptable to changing from one task to another during the working day often under pressure.
  • Strong interrelationships with all functions of the business
  • Knowledge transfer of role within department
  • Coaching & Mentoring where required

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • AAT/QBE

Desirable

  • Qualified Accountant with 2-3 years PQE
  • Compliant CPD record
  • Power BI reporting
  • Sage 50 Payroll
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

 

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • A solid understanding of financial and management accounting, preferably in an industry environment
  • Strong business acumen
  • Advanced IT skills

Desirable

  • Power BI reporting
  • Sage 50 Payroll
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
