JOB PURPOSE

  • Ensure that all team members provide the necessary services and support that the Project Managers require in order that Cullum can excel as a Project Centric organisation, delivering compliant projects on time, to budget, in a way that satisfies our customers whilst ensuring the sustainability and growth of the business.
  • To locally manage the delivery of 3D models and 2D general arrangement and detail manufacturing drawings of a draughting team.
  • To lead and supervise a small team of draughtsmen and in so doing assist the  Engineering Development & Delivery Manager in achieving company objectives.


JOB ACTIVITIES

  • To set the team tasks and priorities in support of the project objectives
  • To attend project team briefings and cascade information as required
  • To report progress to the Project Managers and line management on a regular basis
  • To ensure the team output meets the prescribed goals
  • To mentor the individuals within the team and set objectives for their development
  • To regularly review task progress of the team and alert the Project Managers and line management to any delays to progress
  • To advise team members on company and departmental best practices
  • To review the team output and manage model interfaces
  • To identify opportunities for cost reduction of the company's products and support value engineering activities as required
  • To support company initiatives and attend training events as necessary
  • To carry out the duties of a mechanical draughtsman
  • Any other duties as may be required from time to time.

 

SUPERVISION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The post holder will communicate with other services and outside organisations
  • The work is varied, may be complex and involve changing rapidly from one task to another during the working day
  • The post holder will work as part of a team and under his / her own initiative and shall lead by example
  • The post holder must work to attain optimum performance in service delivery within the area of responsibility
  • The post holder should seek the advice of the Engineering Development & Delivery Manager on difficult or contentious matters

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Desirable

  • Qualified to HNC standard or equivalent.


EXPERIENCE
Essential

  • Experience at a Senior Draughting level
  • Experienced user of 2D and 3D Computed Aided Design packages.
  • Ability to communicate technical information
  • Knowledge of the company products and services
  • Understanding of sheet metal and fabrication techniques
